The
infamous 106D seen here in its golden age has been in Theta Xis hands for over
six years. Known through out campus as the most happening party spot, maintenance
hasn't been inside the apartment for at least ten years! 106D has gone through
many changes over the years but always remained a dungeon!
1996
and 1997 saw the golden age of 106D. A major contribution to that was Boneloaf
and Chris Ward lived there! With those two living there Disco Fred had the freedom
to transform the apartment into his vision of a disco dungeon! Complete with
backlight, disco ball, stage, strobe light, bar, various flashing lights and
other decorations 106D was decked out better than any club in Melbourne!
From
looking at this picture of 106D above it is hard to believe that at this time
Theta Xi had huge parties here with a local band called Bush Pilots performing!
Disco Fred was Social Chairman of the fraternity and worked very hard at making
things happen. Whether it took trip too Publics to import women or motivating
the brothers to clean up 106D he was on top of the situation.
Disco
Fred likes to amuse himself by getting Akarin to be Artistic when he is drunk,
above you see the result of pushing Akarin to draw when he is intoxicated and
unwilling!
I
don't think this guy is on a housing contract!
After
many years of trying finally you see Disco Fred and Ken relaxing before the
106D beach party. It took 6 pick up truck loads of sand from Melbourne beach
to fill up 106D with sand for this event. Coincidentally a week later the volley
ball court in south gate had a fresh load of sand
106D
was not only a place to party, but was also a place to hang out, meet, have
formal diners, and plan our football games as seen here to the left! Maybe if
the brothers of Theta Xi had their pre game meeting in a place that wasn't surrounding
by drinking paraphernalia they may have won more games, but they probably wouldn't
have had as much fun.
After
spending much of his college career in 106D it was only fitting that Disco Fred
had his graduation party there. Saying good bye to 106D, Theta Xi, College life,
and Melbourne wasn't easy but Disco Fred still manages to find himself in the
area now and again.
To
the right you see Akarin leading the brothers in a celebration, what are they
celebrating? Perhaps the begging of the gerbil hole between 106D and 105D.
